BHM Buildings and Grounds Department is staffed with over 47 employees. Each building has a head engineer that works with the staff to deal with building maintenance and housekeeping along with managing the custodians. The middle school and high school have night leads. Other Buildings and Grounds positions include supporting the warehouse, grounds and district-wide maintenance.
The district includes 10 school buildings that cover over 1.1 million square feet and approximately 359 acres. The department is responsible for all maintenance and housekeeping of the buildings and grounds. In addition, custodians handle set-ups for concerts, games, and any special events that occur during the evening and on weekends.
