Join Our Parent Volunteer Network; we welcome parents and community members to volunteer at our school!

We would like to welcome Ashley Kleist as our new Discovery Volunteer Coordinator.  Molly Pool has stepped down this year to pursue other adventures. We thank Molly for such a fine job. In order for you to be fully informed about the volunteer opportunities at school, and to simplify Ashley's efforts in contacting volunteers, we are asking that you email Ashley at her email address: ashleykleist3@gmail.com or call her directly 612.308.2811 so that your name can be added to the volunteer list. If you do not wish to have your email included or do not have email, you may call the DES Office at 763.682.8400 and your name can be passed on to Ashley. Many volunteer opportunities are for one-time events that may last from a few minutes to a couple of hours, or might involve work that can be completed at home. If you are interested and available to help, you can easily respond to Ashley. Here are just a few of volunteer opportunities: Art Adventure, Book Fairs, Bus Safety Supervision, Classroom helpers, Enrichments, FFN Carnival, Field Trips, Fundraisers, 5th Grade Celebration, Toys for Tots, Thanksgiving Food Drive, Track and Field events and much more. All parent volunteers need to have a completed background check on file. Please call the Discovery Office for more information. Thank you for being willing to partner with us!

Any volunteer, employee, substitute, coach, or student teacher at Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools must have a Criminal Background Investigation check through our district completed and approved, before their first day of employment or before volunteering in the BHM school district.

To complete the Criminal Background Investigation, please print and complete the Background Authorization Form, then turn your form in to the Discovery office.  Once your form is submitted the office will send you an email through the Trusted Employees website that contains a link to log on to their secure website where you will enter your personal information to complete your background check.  A credit or debit card will be needed for payment. The fee is currently $14. 
 
If you DO NOT have any access to a computer or a debit/credit card, please contact the school office for manual entry instructions.

*At this time we are not able to accept copies of background checks from other districts or employers.
