Bison Online (9-12)
Bison Online is an asynchronous, online learning environment for high school students taught by Buffalo High School teachers and staff. Full-time Bison Online students earn a Buffalo High School diploma, and have full access to BHS activities and events. Students who prefer a blend of in-person and online learning have the flexibility to choose part-time participation.
Background
While Elevate Online will continue to serve BHM students in grades K-8, a growing number of students interested in online learning now allows us to offer our own courses at the high school level. We feel Bison Online will improve the student experience by providing:
- Deeper connections between online students and BHS teachers, school counselors and other support services.
- Greater alignment with BHS’s trimester schedule, as well as continued access to school counselors and other support services.
- Access to many of the same course offerings as BHS, taught by BHS staff.
- A smoother transition between online and in-person learning experiences.
As a result of this transition, students will no longer be able to earn a Buffalo High School diploma while attending Elevate Online full time.
